Service Description
A retouch appointment is one of the most important parts of your permanent makeup journey — it’s where your brows truly come to life and your final results are perfected. ✨ After your initial treatment, your skin goes through a full healing cycle. During this time, it’s completely normal for pigment to soften, fade slightly, or appear uneven in certain areas. Everyone’s skin heals differently depending on their type, tone, and lifestyle — and that’s why your retouch session is essential. It allows me to assess how your brows have settled, how your skin has retained pigment, and make any necessary adjustments so you leave with beautiful, balanced, long-lasting results. At your retouch appointment, I’ll start by reviewing how your brows have healed and talk through your feedback. You might feel they’re a little lighter than you expected, or that you’d like a slightly different tone or shape adjustment — this is the perfect time to fine-tune everything. I’ll then carefully layer pigment where it’s needed, even out any inconsistencies, and deepen the colour if desired. The process is typically quicker and gentler than your first session, as the base pigment is already in place. Think of it like the second coat of paint — it builds up richness, saturation, and longevity while ensuring the shape is symmetrical and soft. This stage helps to “lock in” the colour and definition so your brows last beautifully for up to 12–18 months before a maintenance touch-up is needed. Your retouch also gives me valuable insight into your skin’s behaviour. Some people’s skin holds onto pigment easily, while others may need a little more depth or density. By seeing how your skin responded, I can personalise your treatment plan and aftercare for even better results going forward. During your appointment, I’ll reapply numbing if needed to keep you comfortable, then work slowly and precisely to refresh your brows. You’ll leave with a polished, natural finish that enhances your features while still looking like you. After your retouch, your healing process will be similar to your first treatment, though usually milder and faster. Following aftercare instructions closely will help protect your new colour and ensure it heals evenly. In short, your retouch appointment is not just a “top-up” — it’s the final stage that transforms good brows into truly great brows.
Cancellation Policy
Treatment Booking – Terms & Conditions Pricing & Booking Fees All treatment prices include VAT and are correct at the time of publication but may change without notice. Payments can be made in cash, by card on the day, or in advance online. A booking fee confirms acceptance of these terms, including the cancellation policy. Consultations are paid in full and non-refundable unless cancelled at least 72 hours in advance. To secure an appointment, a non-refundable booking fee of 50% of the treatment value is required (some services require full payment). Rescheduling & Cancellations At least 72 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Refunds are only issued for cancellations made with the required notice and that have not already been rescheduled. Clients may reschedule up to twice with adequate notice; further changes require a new booking fee. Cancellations or missed appointments with less than 72 hours’ notice will forfeit the booking fee. Less than 24 hours’ notice or failure to attend will result in the full balance being due before a new booking can be made. Late arrivals or incomplete client information preventing treatment are treated as last-minute cancellations. Cancellations must be made in writing via emma@blackbirdink.uk, the website contact form, or phone/text to 07816 828930. Messages on social media are not accepted. Client Responsibilities Appointment confirmations and reminders are sent via email. Please read these carefully, as they include vital pre- and post-treatment information. Failure to follow instructions may result in forfeiting your booking fee. Clients are responsible for ensuring they are eligible for treatment; please contact us if unsure before booking. Complimentary Retouch Policy Each new brow, eyeliner, or lip tattoo includes one complimentary retouch session, valid for 12 weeks from the initial treatment. This session must be booked within that time and can only be rescheduled within seven days of booking. Missed or cancelled retouch appointments, regardless of reason, will incur a fee to rebook. Colour boost procedures consist of one appointment unless stated otherwise; extra sessions are chargeable. Minors & Guests For safety and insurance reasons, minors (under 18) are not permitted on the premises. Only the client and technician may be in the treatment room unless prior consent is given. Please arrange childcare in advance to avoid last-minute cancellations and loss of payment.
